Michelle started training with Functional Fitness 4 years ago.  Thinking back to when she started, the biggest change has been her attitude.  When she first began training at FF, Michelle showed up consistently, but her attitude and outlook was hit or miss.

Her commitment over time has allowed her to make big changes and recognize certain triggers that start a backslide.  Like most of our clients, Michelle has had her ups and downs, but she continues to work.  She doesn’t give up.  She is COMMITTED — and she’s even been able to go from 5 medications down to 2!

I started training at Functional Fitness in October of 2013, I think!  I had seen on Facebook, thru a member’s post, that they were doing a challenge.  So, I thought what could it hurt? Well, lots to be exact!  My thighs, my butt, and every other muscle you could imagine!  So, I started my training then and haven’t given up!

The reason I continue to train here is because I started doing this for ME and continue to do it for me.  I love the atmosphere and how accepting everyone really is!  You can talk to any of the coaches and they will help you figure out what you need, when you need it and help you get there!  I continue to train because of how supportive everyone is!  You can be going thru a hard time and there is ALWAYS someone who has gone through the same thing there and they are standing behind you, cheering you on!  I have hit many lows and there was always someone who would share their story with me and it helped me to refocus.

I have remained committed to improving my health.  I’ve made some major changes and I feel better physically and mentally!  Remembering where I was when I started is a huge motivator for me to keep going!  And, I know others are watching me!

Before I started working out, I was frustrated with my size.  I have always been on the bigger size and I always thought that I couldn’t do things because of my size.  I was out of shape and very LAZY!!!  I’ve learned that I have to change the thoughts in my head before I can move forward.  I’ve learned that I am more important than anyone else… even my kids!  I come first and no one else will take care of me.  If you want to make a major life change, do it for yourself!

The greatest benefit is being pushed!  I am doing things now that I thought I never would have done!  Me!! Lifting weights and doing kickboxing!  I’ve also learned that it’s ok to “cheat” on my eating once in a while, but to get back to the healthy eating as quickly as possible!
